When Ronald Reagan was required to take Social Security, he gave it back, and lived solely on the salary. I wish he had given back the salary and tried to live solely on Social Security.
On a side note, I never understood the point of the 200K (now 400K) salary. Why not just make it in line with the average income based on GDP? The travel, the catering, the housing…the position pays millions upon millions in bennies.
I have to say that it’s hard to see how anyone could possibly exceed Cheney’s, Halliburton’s and numerous other parties’ excesses under George W. Bush when it comes to government graft.
