Awww we are all blind to certain things. I think her and Lawrence’s relationship in later years (which we’ve seen) speaks for the fact that she gets a grip and let’s him know how important he is.
C’mon people, HAPPY Friday, not snarky Friday! LOL!
THIS IS ABOUT THE BEST COMIC EVER BUT MY LOCAL NEWSPAPER , THE TAMPA TRIBUNE DROPPED IT BECAUSE THE MANAGING EDITOR FELT IT WAS :BEHIND THE TIMES:
WE NEED MORE COMICS LIKE THIS THAT DEALS WITH FAMILIES AND THE WAY LIFE REALLY IS.
Maybe it’s both … but Lawrence is probably pretty used to the men in his life via his mother coming and going by now.
I’d say it really *is* the perceived rejection by his best friend in favor of a new friend that has him so down and depressed. A seven year old has such a tender little heart and feelings can be easily hurt when it comes to situations like this.
It isn’t the first time and it surely won’t be the last time Connie does this to him! She drops the kid like an anvil every time she gets a whiff of testosterone, and she latches on to every loser she can find. What Elly said to her is the truth, and she said it pretty gently considering the way she says everything else.
No wonder Lawrence is so insecure that his friends can’t have other friends besides him.

Very observant, Elly. Hopefully, Connie will listen and believe you and not be offended. It’s hard to hear that you’re the cause of a problem.
Well said, ThatCat! I challenge everyone to make it a snark-free Friday. Can we do it??

Obviously Michael turned from Lawrence to Gordon because his mother doesn’t like Lawrence’s mother seeing Ted. Is Gordon’s mother OK or opposed?

Except that Ted the doctor is a creep.
