Been there and had that happen. Got suspended for fighting. Bully ran me down and just pummeled me then walked off. I had a black eye, swollen ear, broken nose. For getting beat up I got suspended. He got detention……
BTDT. Pre-Columbine, most Principals (and School administrators) tended to regard bullies as a (non-)problem to be sorted out by the kids themselves. (And then seemed to go out of their way toward discouraging that from happening[!]) Nowadays they at least don’t seem to be actively interfering with anti-bullying efforts.
Columbine and lawsuits have forced principals and stupidintendents to look like they are doing something about bullying. For ids who find themselves victims, document it. Talk to a teacher, counselor, principal and DOCUMENT it. Have evidence for your lawsuit. I know of one young person who documented his bullying at the start of a school year. When asked about it by the principal he was very straightforward about it. The bullying stopped shortly thereafter. And a good fist to the bully’s nose is also a good idea.

It’s weird that Principlal Vine has this line of thought, because the glasses suggest that he would have been in Ozy’s place as a kid.
