Love the shocked look on the cow in panel #2, and is that crosshatching in panel three? New technique alert! :)

Adding Volkswagens to the list of things Bea draws well.

Stand-alone dailies are fine, but must confess that I tend to prefer story arcs like this, they just seem to have more forward momentum to ’em …

    … so to speak. XD

    Teeny-Tiny Critique …

The lettering in the second balloons of panels two and four is perilously close to the right-hand panel border in both instances. Not disastrously so, though perhaps something to be mindful of going forward.

You know everyone here thinks this will be an arc where Sedine is gonna try to get a new car, did it occur to anyone this maybe an arc where Sedine and Sam break down in the middle of nowhere with no cell reception and way to get home?

My second guess for this strip’s plot: Sam host a seance for the spirit of Ferdinand Porsche, cuz that’s the only way he’s ever gonna repair that car. Either that or Ferdinand can take it to the afterlife with him.

You can repair an old Bug.

You can’t repair a new anything.

    Chuga, chuga, chug

    There goes a classic Bug.

    Engine goes Kaboom!

The Bug has met its doom.

    Car no longer rolling

    Riders could be strolling.

    Sam doth say, “Repair”

    Sedine feels despair.

    Needs that new car smell

No smoke would be so swell.

    Shall Sam be a hero?

Or a mechanic worth a zero?

I don’t think its the engine, maybe electrical? Old VW Beetles had the engine in the rear and the trunk in the front.

I agree with Sedine. It’s time for a new car. A kaboom is not a good thing, and possibly something you can’t make repairs to. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.

Sam… It’s time to face a harsh reality. The car… like Roger Moore… has died. May they both rest in peace…

Ahem. Old VW bugs’ engines are in the BACK! Not in the front where you show smoke & sizzle.

    “Repair” must be Sam’s “Mantra."

    “Ohm, Mani, Padme, Ohm …”

I have this image in my head that Sam is going to fix the car but is going to make things worse.

Well, there’s this wonderful book that’s been out since 1969 called “How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive: A Manual of Step-By-Step Procedures for the Compleat Idiot”. It’s been updated several times since then, and is still in print. Maybe Sam has a copy? Or needs a copy?
