Oh yes they do. Back in the ‘70s, a large number of US citizens went to Canada. Because of blacklists and a need to feed my family, I was one of them. I went through the year-long process and moved there, with my family, household goods, and my 5A (no longer subject to the draft) card. I was there when the UN Conference on Human Habitation was held. There I attended the NGO counter conference and took courses the University of British Columbia gave. One seminar was titled “Marketing Products of Small Industry in Canada”. One facetiously asked, “Do you let Americans in this?” The professor replied, “Why not, I am.” It turned out over half the class were US or former US citizens. We lost the cream of a generation then. The study was Appropriate Technology – how for everyone to have a higher standard of living without wrecking the planet. But the corporations decided it was getting too popular and told the corporate media, “Stop covering this stuff or we will cancel our ads”, and so you don’t hear about it any more without searching.
