And the bearings in the fan motor are shot so they grind and thump all night as it “cools”.

Last hotel I was in the AC was set so guests were not able to shut it off

We have two thermostats in our house. Mine is marked in two-degree increments from 50 degrees to 90 degrees. My wife’s has two settings: Too Hot and Too Cold.
