Dont worry. By clumsily destroying our health care system and bankrupting rural hospitals across the south, the GOP will cause far more American deaths than ISIS could ever hope to. But, you know, freedom.
Blowing thousands of civilians, adults and chiildren to bits with “shock and awe”, and establishing the practices that led to the ceation of ISIL was the Bush administration definition of “civlized”. The graphic horror of what a rocket, bomb, or mine does to the human body, makes the primitive use of a knife, seem a kindness. (And yes, “shock and awe” also led to many people being burned alive, in their homes.)
Bill: you mean like when they were the only country in the Middle East to attack the US Navy without provocation in the Israeli attacks on the USS Liberty? Or did you mean the stealing of all the Palestinians land on the West Bank? Oh, maybe when they invaded their neighbor’s under Saul to occupy Canaan and all lands occupied by others, killing off all those foks in the process. The Hebrews/Jews indeed have a very long history of letting the other side have peace, and life.
But that’s also why the J street folks and many in Israel say the settlements are illegal and they want Netanyahu to stop, and actually for the first time actually seek peace.
Name-calling ("This is obviously silly.) does not refute the fact that both killers were motivated by hate, that they both occurred in a building dedicated to one called “The Prince of Peace”, and that both murderers considered themselves to be part of a movement based on violence. This moves the subject light years beyond “silly”, but it does avoid confronting the issue.
I correctly stated the claim that Christians are supposed to make public announcements specifically condemning being gunned down in church was silly.

“does not refute the fact that both killers were motivated by hate, that they both occurred in a building dedicated to one called “The Prince of Peace”, and that both murderers considered themselves to be part of a movement based on violence.”
.
Nor did I intend to refute those things.
I don’t go around defending murderers.
I don’t go around defending religions which call for murdering people.
I will leave that to you and nance if you wish.
Entering a place of worship to kill the worshippers is not the same as leaving a place of worship to kill non-worshippers.
“George Tiller’s murderer claimed he had the right to kill Tiller because he was an abortion doctor and cited the Bible as his inspiration.”
.
The difference being that he didn’t cite the bible but what others told them it said and meant. The bible doesn’t instruct anyone to kill doctors who perform abortions.
.
At worst, it calls for a civil penalty against those who cause a woman to lose a child while fighting. It does not speak to anyone who aborts a deformed fetus which could not survive or which would kill the mother giving birth.
The Pope told them to believe that.
.
“Dylann Roof considered himself a devout Christian. "
.
He probably still does.
He didn’t get it from the teachings of Jesus, though.
.
“Should we call these instances “Christian terrorism”? No, for the same reason we should not call it “Islamic terrorism”.”
.
So we shouldn’t call it “Christian terrorism” because it violates the teachings of Christ as spelled out in the bible.
“Islamic terrorism” is more iffy because it complies with the teachings of Islam as spelled out in the Quran.

Ah, yes—the “civilized world”, i.e., how we in our arrogance face everyone else:

ISIS is hardly the only and biggest threat to the civilized world or democratic world.

This cartoon assumes the civilized world is helpless, bound and vulnerable (also "civilized).

" “Christians” (not all, just zealots) stay silent about George Tiller’s murderer or Dylann Roof that kill people in church."
.
You equate a person coming to a church to slaughter its members with that killer being a Christian.
This is obviously silly.

Perhaps if Obama has John Kerry lecture Israel some more and how evil they are ISIS will stop decapitating and burning people alive.
