Are you off the hook?

Almost never.

No, I make sure the phone is properly on the hook when I finish a telephone call. If I don’t then the people on the party line complain.

I’m on the hook for things I’ve never been hooked on.

Maybe, Peter, but it’s more fun than they way I expected Peg’s sentence to wind up….

Instead of “it was cancelled” I was waiting for “It was yesterday.”

In which case he’d have missed the hook…. but he’d still be dangling from it.

 

As for me, I try to ignore the hook when it’s dangling, or pretend I didn’t see it.

I’m finally training myself not to take the bait…. especially from those who “need” rescuing from self-inflicted drama.

Ah the volunteering of one mate for the child!!! Actually it helps to go, especially if it gets you out of work!!!

After the car was towed to the body shop, yes.

I had to beg to get on the hook; it was a class trip to Costa Rica.
