As a non active private pilot, I would NEVER fly in any airplane or airliner that did not have an experienced pilot(s) on board. There will never be a robot that can land properly in severe weather & crosswind conditions, or handle certain emergency conditions.
If, I repeat, If there are now flying drones big enough to carry heavy weaponry, Just how long before technology is adapted to carry loads of people, ???

Many modern planes have had the ability to go pilotless for ages. But they always have pilots, in case, just as @charliefarmhere says.
