Satchel Pooch: Was it 'I stink, therefore I am?' no, no, no, was it: 'I think everything stinks?" Bucky Katt: No, because if everything stank, that would mean everything in the universe is comprised of dogs. And then dark matter would have to be called filthy matter. Satchel Pooch: Aw.

One plus and one minus on grammar. The plus is for using the proper past tense, “stank”, instead of the past perfect, “stunk”, which seems for some odd reason to have crept in alongside “shrunk” and “sunk” as common misuses. The minus is for getting “comprise” wrong. It means “consist of”, but it’s often misused in place of “composed of” or “constituted of”. Proper usage would have been “everything in the Universe comprised dogs”.

Bucky ought to take a “leap of faith” right out the window. Wait…he does that in one strip! His brain is dark, but it doesn’t matter!
