    Our dog actually does that. The century-old Persian rugs are the main target, followed by under chair cushions. Brilliant animals, huh?

    I’ve known of a toy poodle that would take small objects, and assemble a collection of them, hidden behind a chair or under a cushion, or behind a chair AND under a cushion. Its owner suspected that the dog was acting out instinctive nesting/mothering behavior that would have been normal if she were doing it with puppies instead of cell phones and TV remotes.
