Forget about her. There are plenty of fish in the sea. There’s this girl with glasses who hangs out with Peppermint Patty, and I have it on good authority that she’s crazy about you. I think she even told Patty that she would marry you!
We do, Charlie Brown, because sometimes life hits you with something so bad that there’s nothing else for it. I remember my maternal grandmother’s funeral; all four of her sons, my uncles, cried a lot, which I had never seen them do so before. When my mother passes away, I daresay that I will cry like a baby.
No boy should ever be taught not to cry, that it isn’t masculine, that he’s a sissy or whatever. We all have emotions and the male who is taught not to cry will get his emotions out in some other way, usually by anger. Is that a better choice?

We do, Charlie Brown. We just don’t usually do it when we think anyone else is looking. But that’s changing.

Mature men cry. Those who never escaped the adolescent “what will people think” mindset are afraid to.

When men don’t cry, they write songs or paint amazing art. It comes out somewhere.

Men cry Charlie Brown, sometimes more than women.

Eh, the people who say “It’s OK for men to cry” are probably the same people who say to their kids “Do what you want to with your life.”
And then when either actually HAPPENS, they’re all “No, wait, stop, I didn’t mean it! This shouldn’t be happening!”
