It’s amazing to think that since Bill Watterson got the character of Calvin so right as being a typical 6 year old boy he himself never had any children and as a boy himself was quiet and bookish, Calvin’s complete opposite.
Thank you, Gavin and thank you Bill W., for these images and words of sagacity…. I am reminded of a famous poem by Robert Frost, of which I will only quote the last stanza: “I shall be telling this with a sighSomewhere ages and ages hence:Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.”
I can relate to Bill’s words / & your visual narrative, so much. Thanks again.
I appreciate this as a ‘pick me up’. About 3/4 of what I do I love but there is a corporation attached and that 1/4 I have been struggling with. I am surrounded by the ambitious and the just passing through. Only a few of us with a passion for the subject remain.
We all have different desires and needs, but if we don’t discover what we want from ourselves and what we stand for, we will live passively and unfulfilled. Bill Watterson
Letting your mind play is the best way to solve problems. Bill Watterson

He did what he loved, and he enriched the world. Watterson is an all-too-rare genius who knows and then does.
