An hour is a lot for a little kid, especially on a wind instrument. I’d suggest 1/2 hour instead.

Whatcha expect? a laugh?

Let mom have her laugh, Alice. With you and your brother, I’m sure it doesn’t happen often.

I remember my daughter getting mad at me for laughing when she said something so unexpected and adorable. I felt so bad but it was impossible not to.

If I don’t practice for a day, I know it.

If I don’t practice for two days, the critics know it.

And if I don’t practice for three days, the public knows it.
