Why does Adam have the letters he wrote Laura? Did she return them or something?

At least they are to his wife and not some other girlfriend. He may be embarrassed but his wife will love them still. Or maybe he wrote them and never gave them to her, that would explain why he has them.
I’m guessing that Laura, knowing their contents, put them somewhere her children wouldn’t go on their own. Katy didn’t want to go in there.
