I had a doctor friend who insisted my constant coffee drinking was causing heart arrhythmias. So we did an off-the-record test. I abstained from all caffeine for 24 hours and crawled to the hospital. He took my vital signs and then I had a cup of coffee waited about 5 minutes and took the signs again. We repeated the experiment cup after cup. After the second cup, I “leveled” off to a pulse of 60, blood pressure of 120 / 80 and normal sinus rhythm on the EKG and held there through 10 more cups.
.
His diagnosis was that for me, coffee does not cause arrhythmias. His second diagnosis was that with as many trips as I made to the bathroom to get rid of that coffee, I would probably never have a bladder infection.

Dad accused every one of “salting” the sugar. We would taste his coffee and find it very sweet. A few Dr visits later, diagnosed with Diabetes.
