Lucy has been rattled for some time now.

Don’t try to have a sane conversation with her. She starts every conversation with: fjiurvbifddghthc!!!

Lucy, there are safer ways to get a different POV without the concussion. Farside99 has one.

Lucy is the reason people started to think the Tiki Bar was open 24/7.

    Oh!

I think I just had a scientific breakthrough!

Or at least, a “Eureka!” moment.

(Appropriately enough, since Eureka happens to be, as well, a city in California.)

    Anyway…. earthquakes.

    California.

    We’re used to ’em.

    Ground shakes.

    Knickknacks fall.

Floop, crash, tinkle, plop…. “Did something break, Hannah?” “Just a little earthquake Floyd… go back to sleep.” “ZZZzzzzz….”

    No big deal, we think…

But the shaking… the cumulative effect of those small rattles and the nano-bits of distant disturbance that reach us….

WOW…. it might explain why the rest of the country finds us a bit…. um…. different…..

And we find them….. let’s call it “inexplicable.”

    Bilan…..

    You’re right.

The Tiki Bar isn’t open 24/7.

Sheriff MonkeyBlues, the proud owner of the Tiki, insists that we stay open for your drinking and dining pleasure, 25 hours a day.

    That’s 365 days a year. 366 in Leap Years.

Which is why I’m on my shift, managing the bar, and either Fenton or I will gladly take your order, at 3am exactly.

    California time.

And from yesterday… thank you, Rose, and Linguist.

Hey, it’s OK, no, it’s more than OK…. it’s great!

There’s no timetable, and no pop quiz.

Birthday wishes are gratefully accepted from all locations, in any time frame.

A couple of points here or there for hitting the exact day.. a bit of extra credit for remembering it….

    But it isn’t necessary.

    Full thanks to you both!

linguist Thanks for the explaination of your travels. I had gotten worried you were aground somewhere. Turns out you were only becalmed.I saw something on PBS about two weeks ago, one of their travel programs and they featured a remote river resort and (I can’t remember the name) and the president of Ecuador was there swimming with the tourists. Ijust figured it was for the filming of the program, but it sounds as if that is the norm. Congratulations on finding such a place.
