B.D.: So, how's our boy doing? Mom: Good. Alex is here for the weekend again. She does seem to lift his spirits. He's working harder at his aphasia therapy these days. I think his speech is starting to catch up with his thoughts. Toggle: I'm getting better. I'm getting better. Alex: Cool! How can you tell?

GEE1A says: I told ya, sheād be better for him than any VA!.. GEE!A, a faceplant on the pavement is better for someone, than any VA facility. People die in those places, Man!

JonD17, one exception (in Toggleās case) is his mum, who is much worse than VA.
(oops, nevermind, I guess they were the ones who released him to mum in the first placeā¦.)

JonD17 ā people die in ANY hospital. My mother died in a hospital, as did my wife. The VAās problems stem from the fact that you have too many non-Vets setting policy for how Vets are treated. Many of my uncles, cousins, and older friends were āinvitedā by our country to fight in wars ā my father included ā and I volunteered. Spent 4 years in the Marines. But, when I go to the VA, Iām often dealing with someone who has not served.
But ā the VA has also helped me out a lot. As a disabled Vet, they helped retrain me into the job I have now, and they advocate for me as well.
Donāt blame the VA. Blame the higher level administrators who forget who they are responsible for.
