The structure of this overused set up (sending the tablet across the sea and waiting overnight for a response) has been literally Xeroxed for many years. It’s basically a two-panel daily strip (first and last panels) stretched to a Sunday strip with useless filler panels which add nothing to the storyline or the punchline. Yes, I know these are comic strips I can read—or not read—for free. But “B.C.” and “Andy Capp” (the other Sunday offender) are capable of much better work. Loyal fans of both strips know this.
I reject the premise; corruption is a lot worse in third world countries where leaders are neither celebrities nor members of fortune 500. To avoid corruption and pursue justice, you need a virtuous population that strives for moderation, courage and prudence.
So glad to see others who are saying what I say, which boils down to: GET POLITICS OUT OF THE STRIP! Liberal, conservative. communist, whatever. Just get ‘em out. You’ve proven you can be very funny and entertaining without politics. Do do what you do best and stay away from presenting material—like politics— that will only be entertaining to some, rather than all of your readers

Politics = Corruption

But public servants become celebrities.
Celebrities attract wealth. (Think Oprah.)
Fortune 500 types attract public attention and celebrity. (Think Bill Gates.)

But… I get all my political advice from paid celebrities and Fortune 500 media companies!

Try to draw a comic that is actually funny….

The problem is that many people who originally go into government to do good end up wanting to do well, instead.
