Wonder Wart Hog, DBA wndrwrthg - I don’t think it’s marching onward exactly… it seems more like a slide down a steep slope with the lowest common denominator at the bottom.

Doesn’t technology usually seem like a slide down a slippery slope? That’s why we have so many “Golden Ages” and “when I was young…” memories. They just don’t make them like they usta. Or maybe it’s just like it usta be, only more so.

oh yeah, my grampa’s 1957 Plymouth Belvedere ran so much better than my PT Cruiser…. in a pig’s eye. I don’t mind advances in technology except when they push us toward a lower overall quality standard than we were expected to meet previously. For instance, in this format I can actually write in complete sentences and with correct spelling; while in texting and twittering I would have to leave out letters and reduce my message to an approximation of what I actually mean to say.

That ain’t gonna work for me, Vern.

I predict that in 50 years the current level of phone video will seem about equivalent to the movie technology of the 19-teens, and will seem just about as odd and primitive in 2050 as early silent movies do to us. If she’s making a historic record, I do hope Alex at least uses a good digital camcorder on a tripod. If she were in my class I’d definitely count off a letter grade for using a phone instead of a good camera with high resolution, and clip-on microphones. So there.

Can you imagine what an image recorded on a cell phone would look like when enlarged to movie screen size?

Jogger2, that would be an interesting, surreal art movie.
