Which also means you’ll get more happiness from the dog than your daughter.

We recently had to put our dog down. Although I took it a lot better than I thought I would, I still miss him. In the beginning of May we decided that, for various reasons, May 31st would be the best day to take him in. We all had a chance to get used to the idea, and I think that helped. Not trying to bum anyone out, but neither have I come close to losing my mind. As far as I can tell anyway.

There are plenty of dogs, cats & other animals at the shelter who’d love to come home with you.

… and this is why we don’t get minors companion animals. The adults in the household by rights are the only responsible parties, and children learn how to be responsible by observing them.
