@ Commentator’s post from Tuesday - I got an awesome tote bag with the line: “Stop undressing me with your eyes. Use your teeth!” I also got a few magnets for my fridge (and friends) and a greeting card! You should definitely check out a comic con in your area if you like comix. You don’t have to dress in costume and you get the chance to meet many wonderful artists, get signed art, and perhaps even free swag!
John - it was such a pleasure to meet you! I’m also really enjoying the books I got from your friend/boothmate Batton Lash. They are witty and very fun!, so thanks for bringing him along. And thanks to your friend Rick, who made special effort to find me once you were back at the booth. :)
Regarding comic conventions, they can be a lot of fun. And they’re fun for the pros too.
Selling our work pays for the expenses of coming to the con (if we’re lucky.) Sometimes we even make a profit. But mostly it’s about meeting fans and trying to promote our work to new readers.
Frankly most pros spend their lives in little rooms working alone. So getting out and meeting friendly people who like your work is a real pleasure!

Hey, gang. I’m back from the NY Comic Con. Great show. Very crowded. I met at least one Go reader (Doriation) and generally had a blast!

I may have to go to one of those. I used to love comics as a kid. Guess I still do since I’m here…
