Audio tape was the WORST! Aside from tapes getting eaten, there was the horrible audio quality! The only nice thing about tapes was the portability. I could never understand why mini-discs never really caught on in North America. All the benefits that tapes had, with none of the drawbacks and more durable to boot!

Dinosaur here. I have still have a tape player in my car. Took that instead of the on-board GPS. True, that was in 2005, but still.

Hey I was in Wal-Mart a few months ago and guess what? They still sell cassette tapes (audio) and cassette tape recorders!

Nothing could beat 8-track players at making you pull endless streams of gobbled tape from the slot.
