I told my daughters about “pet rocks” (yes, I had one, but didn’t purchase it; my brother got me one from a coin machine, and the second I “plucked from the wild”). The younger one (she’s 12) decided that SHE wanted a pet rock. She now has about 13, all of them named. The biggest one, Paul, sits in his own small bowl, while the others share a nest made of Easter basket grass.

Huh, Chuck’s an E.L.O fan. Would’ve pegged him for an Ian Dury one.

A friend of mine keeps her rock collection in a large glass bowl full of water. They’re much prettier when wet.

Diamonds are rocks too. They don’t seem to mind them. :-)
