less than a year after the Tianamen Square massacre, I made a trip to Disneyland. One attraction back then was the Circle-Vision 360, a large round room with 11 screens forming a circle around you. A special 11-camera assembly was used to film grand scenes for display in this attraction, and it was amazing. It was the second time I had seen it, the first being in 1980. One film was themed on America.
But they also had a China-based film with fantastic footage of Tianamen Square taken years before the mass protests. And this year when the scene came up, all around the quiet, dark room you could hear people whispering to each other…….and you know what they were whispering about. It was a unique experience.

For those of you who are curious, Honey was earning 48k a year after taxes in ’89 which would be equal to 96k in 2017.

So I guess we aren’t going to witness the Tianamen Square massacre…

It may not sound like much but back in ’74 $4,000 could buy you some serious living.

I found myself wondering whether Ching is an actual Chinese girl’s name. I googled it with no luck.

@KAURI44
The baby girl name Ching is pronounced as CHIHNG †. Ching is largely used in Chinese and its origin is also Chinese. The name Ching means CAPABLE.
Quite an appropriate name for Honey.
