“Do not each of us desire that he…” Do not? Subject/verb agreement, Linus. Five points off.

Sure, returning to school is sheer joy, unless you were a bullying victim like me.

Forget the cursive, in my school we are all on Chromebooks, even in first grade. The kindergarteners have laptops and iPads.

Funny thing – when I was in grade school (in the 40’s) we didn’t call it cursive. It was either printing, writing (cursive) or longhand. When my kids called it cursive I didn’t understand what that meant.

There’s evidence that people think differently when they write than when they type, even if the sentences (or for that matter, prepositional phrases…….) are exactly the same. Could be some kind of evolutionary lag. As far as Linus, any pupil who can’t outwit his teacher as far as knowing what sells, probably will end up a teacher!

I love Linus’ eye roll in the title panel, as if he’s thinking, “This AGAIN?!”

My writing looks similar to Linus’

Mine is a bit more un-readable though.

The trick to good handwriting is to slow down and take the time to do it well.

I guess that cursive was dropped in schools for a while, but brought back due to complaints….and kids thinking it was a foreign langue and refusing to read it for one reason. Besides, many places require a signature written in cursive and then printed out. It would be embarrassing not to be able to write your name in cursive. It is a faster way to write. Unfortunately, many times unreadable. : )

I was like the only student in my high school who binged writing in cursive. Cursive is more or less dead nowadays… =(

Soooo…. why are Linus and Charlie Brown in the same grade? Isn’t Charlie Brown about 5 years older than Linus….?
