i once read a story about a man who went to drown a cat by throwing it off a bridge. The cat had other ideas and clawed the man, who fell into the river with the cat. The cat swam to safety. The man drowned. Natural justice is swift, merciless, and without appeal.
We currently have the biggest, dumbest “barn” cat. He fusses constantly for food and trips me whenever I am outside by rubbing against my legs and getting in my path. We took him to the shelter a couple of years ago after finally getting him in a carrier. They fixed him and animal control brought him back because I did not make it clear that he was a stray and unwelcome. He attacks our adopted cat often when she goes outside. Worst Cat Ever—and we have had many cats in the last 45 years.

Cats. Nature’s way of thinning the herd.

Cats are great pets, as long as they don’t succeed in killing us.
