Red doesn’t want to be reminded about school starting again.

Rover is so wise, he is.

If Red is wearing his sneakers, back-to-school must be very close!

Remember, this strip was set in my era (the late 1960’s). Back then, school didn’t started until after Labor Day.

I don’t want their Summer to end yet, they still have fun to do!

I would declare, the last week of summer, NO SHIRT! NO SHOES! NO INDOOR ACTIVITIES! NO READING!
