I don’t believe that it’s the wolves. Some people mutated into herbivores, but they still have human appetites. Could get really ugly. Great job Aaron!
Could be a smaller core group of wolves that are preying on the pigs. If the people trying to talk pigs into sacrificing themselves ARE wolves, then that’s a smoking gun right there. But if no one actually knows who is on the other end of those phone calls, it could be any species-type, using the wolves as patsies.
Think about this: We know there is an anti-Jacob faction out there that is encouraging people to believe that there is a food shortage. Someone is also making pigs disappear and encouraging those who remain to believe the missing pigs have been eaten. The first tactic makes people willing to marginalize pigs, the second leads them to marginalize wolves. The pigs feel their lives are at stake and the wolves feel unjustly maligned. Two groups brought to the brink of war by stories that may have no basis in fact. We know the food shortage rumors are false, what if the pigs are not actually being eaten? Who stands to gain from massive public unrest in Endtown? Hmmm…..
This one pig was butchered, but that doesn’t necessarily mean s/he was eaten. It may not have been through stupidity that the skull was conveniently found where Walt was known to “fish”. If Walt didn’t find it, then his aquatic friends would have.
I don’t think it’s the wolves either. They have said they didn’t do it. We know there is a plot. Also they will need an apology for being falsely accused.

I thought originally the problems about food in Endtown involved being really really sick of beans.

And this while there is a mother load of food hidden away. The fewer there are the longer it will last.

But did they eat him with fava beans and a nice Chianti?

I sense that Aaron will pull yet another twist as far as what is happening to some pigs.
