The same thing pretty much happened last year with the establishment Dems pouncing on and attacking the progressive Dems/Independents which allowed Trump to win. I’m sure the Republicans found that at least as entertaining to watch as Dems find the Trump/Establishment Republican feud.
From a predator’s viewpoint, the Republicans are a more tempting target: bigger, juicier, and more of them. Besides, you don’t get to be alpha male by only picking fights with scrawny juveniles — you gotta go straight for the beta wannabes.
Trumputin and the Kochheads aren’t just after the GOP, their goal is to turn back the clock to The Articles Of Confederation, making The U.S. into nothing more than a regional U.N. so they can more easily rule over us as our neo-feudal lords.
Politicians tend to have rather out-sized egos, so I keep expecting the Republicans Trump keeps attacking eventually to fight back. So far their cowardice is weighing down their egos (also their love of country). A former Republican senator, John Danforth, is able to call Trump “hateful” in a public column, and plenty of conservative pundits have attacked Trump in print. But where are the current office-holders? (Oh, yeah, on vacation.)
The GOP Tiger attacking the Dem Donkey, is how Republicans think working across the aisle goes. Until our representatives can work together for the people who elected them, the scene depicted above is just the beginning of greedy politicians eating their own.

He’d never have the courage to attack anything himself that might harm him back.

Has anyone heard complaints from Republican officials about Trump’s appointments?
His executive orders?
His sabotage of Obamacare? Trade agreements?
His trashing of environmental protections?
His threats to national monuments?
Even his pardon?
Do any Republican officials even mention his money grabbing from our government? All those so-called FISCAL CONSERVATIVES?

I often wonder what our government would be like if we had truly knowledgeable, competent people representing us. Will we ever have that?

Instead of tigers, Luckovich should of drew hyenas, or better yet giant weasels.
