The refs at Andy’s games have skid marks on all their penalty cards, the litter bearers have back-up teams, and the opposing players get a hazardous duty bonus on their game check.
The great thing about Andy’s games is that when a player falls to the ground and writhes in pain and agony, it’s real pain and agony!
In the aftermath of hurricane Harvey, the aid and support given to Texas is truly heart-warming. A fund raising campaign by J.J. Watt, the Houston Texans defensive player, that originally aimed to raise $200,000 is at $17,000,000 and rising. The basic goodness and generosity of the American people is admirable.
On the other hand, the attempts by a lot of bottom-feeding politicians to advance their agenda by politicizing the disaster makes me wish that tarring and feathering was still a viable response to this sort of self-aggrandizement.
…and if our POTUS hadn’t shown up and donated $ 1,000,000 of his OWN money, what would you whiners have said! No matter what he does, you will find it to be the wrong thing! Your minds are made up and you don’t want to be confused with facts!
He has NOT donated it YET, and the guy who wrote Trump’s book for him has publicly stated that he doesn’t expect that he will. (Because, you see, he does actually KNOW Trump.) A pledge is NOT a donation. (See where those tricky little facts can play havoc when your mind—and I use the term loosely in your case—is made up?)
Wouldn’t call it “crap”, personally, but then again Aristotle does remind us that man is a political animal…….Just one last thing. Ellen Degeneres, the talk-show host, has pledged $1,000,000 of her own money to Harvey relief efforts. Somehow or other JOEFEARSNOTHING didn’t mention that. (For that matter, not to brag, but if the reports of Trump’s wealth are true, my donation to the Red Cross is a higher percentage of my net worth than a million is to Trump……….)
Hope you are OK. I’ve had a bit of exciting news. One of my distant cousins from Ancestry.com contacted me yesterday. We exchanged a couple of messages and he introduced himself. He owns a gas station, lives in Louisiana, USA and has a wife who’s a paediatric doctor and 3 children aged 16, 14 and 13. His sister is a high school teacher.
He’s from the Middle East where no doubt a few of my ancestors probably lived because I’m 13% Arabic from my Dad’s side.
I’m being cautious. He’s still a stranger so I’m just talking to him through the site.
Enough about me. How is Connie and the rest of your clan? Your comments may be not showing anymore but we haven’t forgotten you.

How many yellow cards does it take to send Andy off; or are they all straight reds? He must be banned from football…

Good morning, fellow Cappers! Shout out to Aficionado!
As fast as Flo is running, maybe SHE should be on the team instead of Andy!

Personally, I can see somebody running to see the start of a football game, but soccer? No, just can’t picture that……..

Please Cappers – Keep the political crap to yourselves or Facebook. It does not need to be in Andy Capp comments!

If Chalkie played football, I think Rube would understand more.
But then, I doubt Chalkie would ever get sent off.

Saw a rabbit while out walking today. I’ve noticed that rabbits have a sort of funny way of running. It’s like a mixture of running and hopping.
