El dieciséis de septiembre es el día verdadero de la independencia mexicana, no el cinco de mayo.

I enjoyed watching Telemundo’s dieciseis de septiembre Celebration from Guadalajara.

When I grew up and moved from Texas I was shocked at how many of my fellow Americans thought Cinco De Mayo was Mexico’s Independence Day. I always enjoyed celebrating both with my friends since so many are of Mexican descent. It came at great cost just as ours did. Party hard Mexico, you deserve it.

Always wondered, if Mexico is independent and so wonderful, why are they sneaking over the border?

Exactly, Olonga. And why don’t the sarcastic bullies on this strip go there to live, if it’s so great. Why, they must be racists! So fun to wind them up, though. Must be fun at parties, lecturing everyone about Diversity at the Oscars, lol.

To olong and zip: More these days are leaving than are entering. Says something about our country, doesn’t it?

Also to zip: You’re sounding more and more bitter these days. Tired of winning already? Life of the party indeed! And for all your complaining when Obama was in office, why didn’t you leave then? Oh, right, because that would be ridiculous. Just as it is for you to say that about folks you disagree with now.

Always wondered, did Trump Disciples really believe Mexico would pay for a wall?

To ALONGO and Zippy: You’re not really that stupid are you? Besides, ever see the numbers on how many Americans are moving south of the border in order to make ends meet? I think you might be surprised. With you right wingers hell bent on turning our country into a third world nation by the destruction of the middle class and loss of worker protections fought for us by the unions you soon will be able to enjoy your new Fourth Reich. Followed, of course, by the next civil war. Good luck with that (not). Of course, we all remember what happened to Hitler and Mussolini.
