Hmmm…. I’d have to look up “preppy”, “topsiders”, and “hobie cat”. Are those strictly American terms? I assume they have something to do with either American Halloween or plaid.
A hobie cat is a type of boat. Back in the 80’s there was a group that called them selves preppies, they were the ones in ads that usually had a sweater draped over their shoulders and the sleeves were tied in front. I think top siders were a type of boat shoe.
