I guess Marigold magically slapped those bracelets onto her legs and tail. (It will be hard to tell how Lord Splendid Humility looks in those things if he keeps hiding himself in shrubbery.)

All those bracelets, and none on her horn. What happened to using every last part of the buffalo?

I missed slap bracelets entirely. The description in Wikipedia reminded me of a pocket yardstick my mother had in the fifties; hers wasn’t layered or stainless, but it was bistable.

I carry a six-foot steel tape on my keychain instead.
