I’m probably old enough to be Peter’s mother,

and my parents were always telling me “Go outside… it’s a nice day.”

It wasn’t TV or computers back then… it was library books..

Sometimes I’d sneak one outside with me, and just find someplace else to sit and read.

But a generation before me…. I think parents didn’t say that so much.

Big families meant lots of chores, and working at them was considered better for children than “idling.”

My mother’s mother probably said things like “It’s a sunny day… stop reading and hang out the laundry.”

    Meanwhile…. Tony’s question is…

“Do you want to talk about it?”

I always want to talk about it, Tony.

    Can’t you tell?

Hey…. you don’t suppose that’s why this place has been so empty lately?

    Gosh.

    Come back, everybody….

    I’ll be quiet.

    Well, mostly.

Talk about it? Childhood? We were outside if it was raining, sunny, foggy or freezing!!! TV did not have anything good till prime time at night or cartoon time in the morning or the afternoon, except for saturday morning.

Why yes I do. Why is the ’toon on FaceSpace in color and GC black and white? They get posted at the same time.

Well Tony, I suppose that depends on what “it” is, and who I get to talk about “it” with.

No, Tony, I’d rather not talk about it.

The older the kid gets, the better he’ll recognize a rhetorical comment.
