My kid sister and I were rough-housing one day while Mom was out, and we accidentally broke a little ceramic bird figurine. We hurriedly put glued it together in hopes she wouldn’t notice it. She didn’t…….for forty years.
When my younger two were about 8 & 11, they were fighting; one tried to kick the other & put a hole in the wall. They dug a leftover roll of wallpaper, trimmed a rectangle in th epaper around the hole, cut a matching piece from just the right spot in the pattern, and glued it over the hole. Took me several weeks to notice. I wanted to be angry, but all I could manage was “Well played!”
