I think Nate’s classmates aren’t laughing at Nate like they usually do whenever Nate does something embarrassing as most of his classmates wouldn’t even get the Lieutenant Worf reference (Like I don’t get it either, but I can assume that Mrs. Godfrey is trying to make a reference from the show from Nate’s favorite character to 1-UP Nate by making Nate feel even more guilty.). STNG was a show from 1987 – 1994, so realistically, most of Nate’s classmates wouldn’t have even watched the show yet, thus not getting the reference by Mrs. Godfrey.
You know? Star Trek is a movie series from what I’ve heard, yet Star Trek the next generation is a TV series. It’s like the Boss Baby! A movie, yet Netflix made it a TV series. Isn’t life odd. Now TO SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY
