I timed the actual program content of a POWER BLOCK show on Spike TV; Including the In-Program promotions, there was 21 minutes of commercials in a 30-minute show. NINE MINUTES of actual content. Pathetic.
Must be late night television. Some of the commercials are so bizarre, it’s hard to tell where they end and comedy sketch shows like Saturday Night Live begin.
Really. Since Mattress Firm started calling ALL of its acquisitions “Mattress Firm” they are more numerous than Starbucks in some areas. Last week I saw one at each end of a strip mall. They are working on consolidating but some of their stores have long term leases.
Beats what I’m getting right now: endless political ads interrupted by brief glimpses of a program. Any news program is just awful (hotly contested governor’s race and by association, Lt governor and attorney general).

In other words, typical TV nowdays.

Sounds like that swamp now called AMC. 4 minutes of movie, 6 minutes of commercials.

Wait till they get near the end of the movie; it’ll be like the last 2 minutes of a basketball game.

Count the pharmaceutical ads between 6:30 and 7:00 during the NBC news. I usually get about 9.

Change the “mattress sale” to expensive pharmaceuticals and you’ve got the CBS Evening News.

Sounds like a show on Amazon Prime – two straight hours of drive-in movie snack bar ads

We interrupt this commercial for a program break.
