Quick return to the past: Yesterday evening, I noticed that “unnecessarily” was misspelled in the last panel. I rarely see misspellings in comics. It’s also noteworthy that I completely missed it in the morning.
I have gone on record, long ago, as an unabashed critic of Roger “The Artless Dodger” Goodell.
I also admit that my favorite team is any team that defeats the Cowboys. And I can’t stand Jerry Jones !
I, therefore, find myself in a sports version of Catch 22. I want to see Goodell gone ( or at least his wings severely clipped ) but on the other hand, I don’t want to hand a victory to the éminence grise Jones, either.
The last panel sums up Jerry’s raision de etre. He wants to be the biggest man in a room of big men (and women). Most of the owners who were there when he bought the Cowboys are gone, and as “senior owner,” he wants to be in charge.
Just a “Heads up” for Ya’ll who don’t live in Texas; Whataburger is a big favorite hamburger chain in Texas. Thanks for reminding me! That’s where I’m going for lunch.

Are they going to change the name of the NFL? The ‘N’ stands for National (I think).

Jerry wants a return to the good old days where there was no salary cap. He just wanted to buy pretty much every available free agent.
