When I was nine-years-old, we kept diaries at school. Our teacher sometimes looked in them. She told me that I shouldn’t write “Nothing much happened” for several entries as I should be thinking of something interesting which did happen.
1- (scribble scribble) 2- “Dear Diary, The gang kicked me off our sandlot baseball team because I stink.” 3- CRASH! 4- “At least they gave me back my ball. There’s a silver lining in every cloud! Maybe I’ll get my bat back!”
“Nothing of importance happened today” is the exact journal entry by King George III on July 4th, 1776. Or so the urban legend goes. Unfortunately he never even kept a diary.

Good thing that hole in the window was already there, or else there’d be glass flying everywhere.

Wasn’t that the same entry the King of England put in his diary for July 04, 1776?
