    Nah, you can’t even help the kids or grandkids with math anymore. It’s all different than it was in our day. We had Arithmetic, for one thing. It was much simpler, as I recall.

    He’s only read out part of the problem so far, gang; stop solving for X and Y.

    And, LuvThemPluggers, it’s no different – they still have Arithmetic. It’s just that now, as it was then, after the kids master Arithmetic they go on to learn Algebra. Didn’t you take math classes after fourth grade?
