    So they drink stout rather than lager, even at a summer-time hot dog cookout? That’s one of the few occasions at which a Pilsner might actually be preferable. At least it’s a dairy stout, so it will be relatively light-tasting – sort of like having a milk shake with your hot dog. In any case, Colin seems a bit uncertain about joining this family outing, doesn’t he?

    The British Barbecue Window must be the hour or two of the summer when the weather’s nice enough to cook outdoors in the North of England.

    It’s been a while since I’ve heard or seen the word “baps.” I believe “bap” is British for what we call a roll or bun.
