This is so truly a reflection on liberal thinking. Like real life liberalism, the airline, when it eliminates the distinction between first class and coach, doesn’t improve the lot of those in coach – it makes First Class space as crowded as coach was.

That is so truly a reflection of conservative thinking. “An incremental improvement among the suffering masses would have negligible impact, so that justifies luxury for the few.” Hey, don’t the conservatives always say that EVERYONE can fly First Class, with a little spit and gumption? But then, again, First Class would end up as crowded as Coach. Luxury can only be maintained by an inequitable allocation of resources. Otherwise, how would the rich know they’re rich?
A HEALTHY airline would have the bulk of its space devoted to Middle Class seating. Instead, they’ve polarized their passengers into the Valued and the Valueless…
Not satire, RCMinor, but admittedly hyperbolic. beenthere41’s comment was so completely simplistic and wrongheaded that I felt strong words were called for.
I’m not a complete levelling-across-the-board egalitarian, and I have no desire to abolish the profit motive. But the ongoing stratification of wealth in this country is deadly for our long-term survival. Wealth is a commodity, and if those without any are to share in whatever “prosperity” we as a country possess the only way to get it is to free it up from those who have far more than they could ever need. It takes money to make money, and the majority of entreprenurial start-ups fail, and blaming the poor for not being rich is unconscienable. Build up our Middle Class, even if that means DOWNWARD mobility from the top as well as UPWARD mobility from the bottom.
We’re becoming a nation of Have-Nots and Have-Mores (W’s “Base”), and those who are hanging on in the Middle are being suckered into thinking that the Benevolent Rich are protecting them from the Evil Poor. Look around you - where is YOUR money ending up? In the pockets of people like Barney. Redistribution of wealth is periodically necessary and (in the long run) inevitable, and if it doesn’t happen in a peaceful and orderly fashion it will happen in a violent and disorderly fashion. That’s not a threat (in MY Revolution, NOBODY goes up against the wall), but it’s a prediction.
I’ve flown one or two international carriers in my time, and even in the cheapest seats it’s far less of a “cattle-car” experience.
Yes, that’s where it starts. Before long they are voting for the communists and talking about liberty and other such leftist for. Where will it all end?

Next time Barney should buy her a ticket in coach.
She may not change her mind, but at least he won’t have to listen to her.

Boehner seems to have found a cure for being a pinko. Be an orango.

The art on this comic is really sensational.
