I took art classes in college, even sold a few pieces. Every project, in class and since, has started with a firm idea in mind, rough sketches, notes, etc. And nothing I ever built, sculpted, painted, sewed, or assembled EVER resembled the initial idea. Which is too bad, because they were good ideas, and I’d like to see them come true one day. I just get off-course… and the finished projects were great in their own way! My teachers all said that this was perfectly normal for some artists. I’ve GOT to get a workshop sometime and get back to work.
