My one and only put the butter on my sprouts last night so I wouldn’t feel guilty. Wonder if Flo puts a head on Andy’s beer so he doesn’t feel guilty? Does Andy ever feel guilty?
Actually it is a genetic thing. In the 1930s, scientists discovered differences in the ability of humans to taste a bitter synthetic compound called phenylthiocarbamide, or PTC, and they determined that the trait was controlled by genetics. For PTC “tasters,” even tiny concentrations of the compound are extremely bitter, while “nontasters” experience little or no taste to the same concentration of PTC. So those of us who like Brussels Sprouts are genetically more evolved than you “tasters.”

My kids like them more than I do. Blech, but I fake it so they won’t follow my bad example.

Brussels sprouts: Good going in. Going out: not so much…

I’m with Andy on this one - along with the fact that sprouts and related vegetables actually make me ill.
