I learned when I was young as I had a Japanese study partner who used chopsticks and taught me how to use them, and I actually prefer chopsticks to eat some things rather than fork; still, if the fork complies with its function adequately and I feel more comfortable using it, I don’t see why anybody would meddle on how other people eat. If they feel inadequate about how other people eat, that’s their problem; and maybe they should leave, as they are free to be with other people that feel the same, instead of meddling in the lives of others because they have no lives on their own.. either that or do what I say because I say so, as they pretend to do with other people. In any case that is some kind of people I try to avoid

I met a girl in Japan back in 1953 that had her own way of using chopsticks.
