I always thought that investigating the heat capacity of toast would be an interesting project, but I couldn’t any interest any students in doing it. (My hypothesis btw would have been that it’s near zero.)
back in the day that this was ‘penned’ – so different than today’s world – I miss those days :) – solutions were simple – lawyers/laws were fewer and less complicated – and science projects were still hated by most of us because we couldn’t do ‘toast’ (at least that’s my nostalgic false memories kicking in) lol
Hope the kid got in trouble, teacher should have reprimanded him for laughing when a fellow classmate was giving a presentation, happened to me twice, both times the teachers reprimanded my classmates.

At least she takes her criticism forthrightly. And gives a straight comeback to wisecracks in the audience.

It was original, Patty. Beat the bejezzus out of an ordinary volcano or a stale model of the Solar system. I’d give it a B+.

Stage two of the science report was to involve strapping a slice of buttered toast to a cat’s back and tossing the cat into the air

If more girls in school would do this, the world would be a better place. Schools would be better, too.

Hey, at least she did a project… she wasn’t just loaf-ing! For her next project, maybe branch out into different bakery products. She’d be on a roll.
