I can see how this will work out – because this is one of the “railroad car” diners from way, way back, and there are only a few left, Corky’s Diner will be given landmark status and thwart the Senator’s plans. Alternately, the diner would be moved to a new spot. But my money is on the former; the latter would be out of character with the strip.
Corky needs a good lawyer. The GA Historical or Histarical Society could go to court and get an injunction. Histarical societies get injunctions for almost anything these days.

Doesn’t the place have to be condemned first before it can be destroyed?

I would be checking Wilber’s permits, this sounds way to fast for urban renewal.

Although old, it is good to see the Wallets and their traditional antagonists.
