How are the able to play? Isn’t the board in an invisible box?

I didn’t know there was that many blank tiles in each box.. clever use of a double “Q” by the guy on the left.

I always lose to them at Scrabble…

Every time I try to come up with a word,

I draw a blank.

Shouldn’t they be pretending to place the pieces?

As a team, they run a terrific custom tailoring business, and they’re always trying to do more.

If they were truly playing mime scrabble, they would be sitting at a table with nothing on it. So, this is all for our benefit.

Apart from being hilariously clever as a comic, it’s intriguing to ponder precisely how such a Scrabble variation would work. … or if analogous games would even evolve within a non-verbal society.

I was left completely speechless by this strip

They’re actually playing the Chinese version (Mandarin characters only, of course).

There are no canonical clown costumes, but — just like the way public consciousness has converged on a stereotypical vision of a space alien — there seems to be universal agreement on how mimes should dress.

I think that blank tiles don’t have any points associated with them.
