    No so sure about the divinity, but we definitely enjoy comforts and benefits that our ancestors (even just a couple of generations back) would have thought only the ultra-rich could afford.

    International travel for entertainment purposes is a biggie. Oh, and instant access to every entertainment ever made. Fruits and vegetables and meats fresh and available year-round. Hot and cold running water. Medical and dental care. Heating AND air conditioning!!! (emphasis added for those south of the Mason-Dixon line).

    The list goes on.

    Poverty is indeed comparative: there will always be those who are “poor” compared to others. And yet, today, at least in this country, even the poorest have benefits that kings could not dream of having two hundred years ago.

    This sounds a lot like one not quite Christian theology who believe they will become a god if they do things on earth that are listed in their twisted scriptures that are based on works.
